There is a public lot about a block and a half away and another about four blocks away.Professor of economics. The one thing it could use is some more parking. One of many pleasant surprises in the little town of Clinton, which sits next to a beautiful reservoir, has some very good restaurants and a beautiful old movie theater. This museum is something you would expect to find in Boston, New York or Chicago. The staff is very approachable and very helpful. There are places to sit and to get refreshments. And the artistry in these unusual items was nothing less than stunning. In the regular exhibit halls, I was amazed that we were able to get up close and personal with carved icons that were hundreds of years old. ![]() Because of the high quality of this exhibit, I plan to keep an eye out for other rotating special exhibits. ![]() We spent two hours here, half of which was at a special display devoted to Russian ballet. This is a real professionally run operation. I wasn't really going to even use them, but my wife reminded me one day so off we went. ![]() Through a series of events I won't bother you with, I wound up with a couple of passes to this museum. I’m glad we finally saw it, but I doubt we’ll visit again. It was extremely underwhelming - more like a car dealership self-serve tea station. If you’ve been to tea rooms before, don’t expect anything from this tea room. Parking could be difficult since it’s mainly street parking. It would be nice if they had more benches to sit and some information that was critical to understanding the paintings was on the bottom floor and we began our visit on the top floor so we didn’t learn this key information until the end of our visit. The museum was smaller than I expected and despite other reviews indicating how helpful the staff was, we had very limited interaction and nobody was walking around to answer any questions. It did have a very religious feel which didn’t bother us. The museum is a collection of Russian Orthodox Christian icons which are basically religious art on wood panels with most from the 1600’s to 1800’s. My wife and I have lived nearby for decades and finally decided to visit. I lucked out on some on-street parking in front of the place but I wouldn't count on that! There is a public lot about a block and a half away and another about four blocks away. ![]()
